Outline	It is used in the measurement of potassium permanganate consumption in tap water. The product guarantees the amount of permanganate reducing substance (blank). (max. 0.1 mg/10 g) Use of boiling stone is frequently specified in the water quality test methods such as the test for "Organic Matters (Potassium Permanganate Consumption) as the item of water quality standard and the "Potassium permanganate consumption" in the Test Methods for Drinking Water". Of these, the preparation method is given in the paragraph of reagent in the "Potassium Permanganate Consumption" in the Test Methods for Drinking Water. The preparation method itself is not difficult but a commercially available product that can be used more simply has been awaited. This is a reagent prepared for use as it is in the measurement of "potassium permanganate consumption" in the Test Methods for Drinking Water and it is also applicable to other water quality tests.
