Outline	organochlorine insecticideOne of the isomers of benzene hexachloride or hexachlorocyclohexane. It is stable against light, air, heat, and acid. In alkaline condition, dechlorination occurs except for the beta form.^*. In addition to a to d forms, BHC occurs in (1a, 2a, 3a, 4b, 5b, 6b)- epsiron forms, (1a, 2a, 3a, 4b, 5b, 6b)- eta forms, (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5, 6b)- theta forms, and (1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, 6a)- zeta forms.This product is also a reference standard for persistent organic pollutants (POPs) .
