| Outline | This product inhibits 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. Since HMG-CoA reductase is the rate-limiting enzyme in a series of reactions involved in cholesterol biosynthesis, blood cholesterol level can be lowered by specifically inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase. This product is a derivative with similar structure to that of lovastatin. This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. |
