Overview / Applications
Outline | IFN is a protein with a molecular weight of about 20 kDa having antivirus activity synthesized and secreted by vertebrate animal cells (except for amphibian) due to viral infection, etc. and there are 3 main types of IFN: alpha, beta, and gamma in mammalians. The alpha and beta types are homologous in chemical structure, but differ entirely from the gamma type in chemical structure. The production of IFN-gamma is limited to T cells and NK cells stimulated by mitogens (concanavalin A, etc.) and sensitizing antigens, and is not induced by viruses. It is a multifunctional factor having biological activities such as antivirus effect, cell proliferation inhibitory effect, antitumor effect, macrophage activation, NK activity increase, immune response modulation, and control of differentiation induction.Endotoxin level: max. 0.1 ng/microgramEffective concentration range in use in vitro: 0.1 to 10.0 ng/mL |
