FUJIFILM's Women4Women second issue - Focussing on Women in Science
At the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2021, FUJIFILM Europe GmbH released the second issue of „Women4Women" honoring the great work of Women in Science.
Female scientists worldwide, including Dr. Elisa-Charlott Schöneweiß, Sales Manager for Laboratory Chemicals, and Dr. Vi Tran, Product Manager for Laboratory Chemicals at FUJIFILM Wako Chemicals Europe, share with us their experiences and challenges on the way to succeed in science as a woman.
Women, for a long time, had been underrepresented and sometimes also underestimated, particularly in science. The reason for this is mostly historical, as there were large gender specific barriers that needed to be overcome. But we did it! There has been an enormous increase over the last century, where women have taken risks and changed the world with their discoveries and amazing breakthroughs."

Science is still driven by men, but I am also happy to see that there is a positive development of more women getting into science, which is great. No matter if it is politics, the economy or the business world, I am convinced that gender equality will have a positive impact on a lot of different areas. I actually do not have a certain role model in science. I admire all women, not only in science, who are striving and working hard for their goals.
