IL-7 ELISA Kits
Human Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 25,000 Da, composed of 152 amino acid residues, and is an essential cytokine for the adaptive immune system. IL-7 promotes the differentiation of immune cells such as natural killer (NK) cells, B cells, and T cells, as well as host defense. It is involved in chronic infectious diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and other conditions.
Fujifilm Wako offers an ELISA kit capable of measuring IL-7 in human serum and plasma with high sensitivity.
What is IL-7?
Human Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 25,000 Da, composed of 152 amino acid residues, and is an essential cytokine for the adaptive immune system.
It is produced primarily by non-hematopoietic cells such as stromal cells of the thymus, bone marrow, and lymphoid tissues, as well as keratinocytes and intestinal epithelial cells.
IL-7 signaling proceeds through the binding of IL-7 to the IL-7 receptor complex — a heterodimer of the IL-7 receptor α chain (IL-7Rα) and the common γ chain (γc) — followed by phosphorylation of Janus kinases (JAK1 and JAK3), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), and signal transducer and activator of transcription 5 (STAT-5)1).
IL-7 is also considered a hematopoietic cytokine essential to the differentiation and homeostasis of immune cells including natural killer (NK) cells, B cells, and T cells, thereby contributing to host defense. It is associated with chronic infectious diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic colitis, and asthma. Furthermore, IL-7 has demonstrated potent immune-reconstitution effects, and it ability to enhance antiviral activity as well as to act as a booster for anticancer drugs and immune checkpoint inhibitors has also been reported. Accordingly, highly sensitive measurement of IL-7 measurement is expected to be of significant value in the field of immunotherapy.
LBIS™ Human IL-7 ELISA Kit
LBIS™ Human IL-7 ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human IL-7. This kit enables highly sensitive quantification of IL-7 in biological samples. The standard included in the kit is a recombinant protein produced in Escherichia coli.
