IL-17A ELISA Kits
Interleukin 17A (IL-17A) is an inflammatory cytokine produced primarily by immune cells including Th17 cells. It acts on a diverse range of cells ― including macrophages, fibroblasts, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and stromal cells ― and efficiently induces the production of inflammatory mediators in these cells. Fujifilm Wako offers an ELISA kit capable of measuring IL-17A in mouse serum and plasma with high sensitivity.
What is IL-17A?
IL-17A is an inflammatory cytokine secreted as an approximately 35 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein, with two 133-amino acid (mouse) subunits linked by disulfide bonds. The IL-17 family consists of six structurally homologous members (IL-17A through F); the term "IL-17" generally refers to IL-17A. Studies have shown that IL-17 is produced by a subset of CD4⁺ T cells distinct from Th1 and Th2 cells, known as Th17 cells. Secreted IL-17A acts on a diverse range of cells — including macrophages, fibroblasts, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and stromal cells — and induces the expression of inflammatory mediators such as IL-6, IL-8, and various chemokines.
IL-17A has been implicated in the activation of NF-κB signaling, a regulator of inflammatory responses, as well as the MAPK pathway, which mediates intracellular signaling1).
Furthermore, IL-17A plays an important role in various autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), inflammatory diseases, allergic reactions, and defense against bacterial infections. As such, it is attracting attention as a novel therapeutic target.
LBIS™ Mouse IL-17A ELISA Kit
LBIS™ Human IL-17A ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of mouse IL-17A. It enables highly sensitive quantification of IL-17A in biological samples. The standard included in the kit is a recombinant protein produced in Escherichia coli.
