Pristane
Prostane, Synthetic is a chemically synthesized product of pristane (2,6,10,14-tetramethylpentadecane). It is used as an ascites-inducing reagent or as an autoimmune disease-inducing reagent. Especially in the production of monoclonal antibodies in mouse ascites, this product is inoculated into mice beforehand to increase the volume of ascites.
