Amino Acid Standard (CRM)
Amino acids are components that make up proteins, and are important nutritional components contained in various foods such as meat and grains. In recent years, many drinks and supplements containing amino acids become popular, and the function of amino acids contained in foods has been gathering attention.
By measuring amino acids in blood samples, the development of technology for screening the possibility of future illness such as cancer, diabetes, and stroke is in progress. There is a demand for more accurate quantification of amino acid contents in samples.
In 2019, FUJIFILM Wako acquired the "Amino acid mixture standard material producer" based on ASNITE certification for the first time in Japan, and have started the production of amino acid CRM that can be "measurement" for amino acid measurement.
We newly released CRM amino acid mixture standard solutions. These products are SI traceable, and the reliability of the measured values is guaranteed internationally.
Features
- The first amino acid mixture standard solutions based on ISO 17034 (according to the accreditation program by ASNITE) in Japan
- Using NMIJ CRM and our SI traceable standard TRM (Traceable Reference Material) as raw material
- Minimal difference between lots
- Attached the certificate that describes impurities of amino acids
- Guaranteed the uncertainty obtained from stability and homogeneity

Measurement Method
APDS Method
The APDS (3-aminopyridyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate) method is a new high-speed amino acid analysis method that can measure amino acid analysis, which used to take two hours, in a few minutes. In the APDS method, it is derivatized by APDS, separated by HPLC, and detected by MS. Even if the retention time in the chromatogram is the same, each amino acid can be distinguished by m/z, so the analysis time can be significantly reduced.
Ninhydrin Method
The ninhydrin method is a post-column method in which each amino acid is separated by HPLC, derivatized with ninhydrin, and the absorbance is measured. It is an amino acid analysis method that is often used and has excellent quantitative and reproducibility.
PTC Method
The PTC (phenylthiocarbamoyl) method is a derivatization method using PITC (phenylisothiocyanate) reagent (Code No. 162-08473) and reacts with primary and secondary amines. The PTC method has the advantage that the molar extinction coefficient of the derivatized compound is almost the same as all amino acids. Gradient elution is required for simultaneous analysis of multi-component amino acids, but by using Wakopak® Wakosil® -PTC and a special eluent, it is possible to easily separate and analyze amino acids with good reproducibility.
