| Outline | This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. [Principle of the assay] Pyrogallol red reacts with molybdate to form a pink complex having the maximal extinction at 470 nm. The pyrogallol red-molybdate complex shifts the wave length of the maximum extinction to 604 nm, being dark purple color when reacting with protein under acidic conditions at pH 2.3. By measuring the absorbance of A600, protein amounts in the reaction mixtures can be determined relative to bovine serum albumin (BSA) as the standard. The kit tends to be susceptible to the effect of SDS. Although it has been confirmed that a calibration curve can be prepared under the BSA concentration of 250 to 2,000 µg/mL in 0.01% SDS, do not use the kit with samples containing SDS. |
