Overview / Applications
| Outline | Sulpiride, which is a benzamide derivative, has been used as an appetizer for a long time. While its pharmacological effect is specific blocking of dopamin D2 receptor (referred to as D2, hereinafter), peripheral D2 blocking occurs more potently than the central D2 blocking due to poor distribution in the brain. Clinically, its effect has been used for the control of instable gastrointestinal symptoms of ulcer therapeutics. It is effective for repairing mucosa, enhancement of resistance and ulcer healing and it also exhibits an antiemetic effect due to its slight central action. |
