Outline	It is used for preparation of desoxycolate agar for microbiologic examination in industrial wastewater testing, drinking water testing, and microbial testing of cosmetics (Used amount: 0.1 %). Furthermore, it inhibits acid phosphatase and polygalacturonase as an enzyme inhibitor. The product is an essential bile salt, playing a key role in lipid absorption and cholesterol metabolism. Bile acids are performing enterohepatic circulation and present in trace amounts in the blood and urine of normal human. It has been shown in recent years that the blood and urine concentrations of bile acids are increased and excreted remarkably in various hepatobiliary diseases, and it has become an essential factor to know the biological trend of bile acids to elucidate such diseases. The product is used for preparation of desoxycolate media, XLD agar media, etc. as well as for studies on bile acids.
