Outline	Other names: cane sugar, saccharose. Main substance of sweetener. This is generally made from sugarcane and sugarbeet. Leaf discs shredded and enzyme-treated still contain a lot of tissue debris, and thus centrifugal settling is not sufficient for protoplast purification. Utilizing the nature of protoplasts that can be suspended in a sucrose solution, broken protoplasts are separated and purification is accomplished. By adding Ficoll or Percoll into the sucrose solution, the suspension of protoplasts occurs more easily. The ultraviolet absorbance, ribonuclease and metal composition are minimized in this high purity reagent. for Biochemistry
