Overview / Applications
| Outline | The product is used for staining of the cell nucleus in histopathological and cytological examination. The nucleus stains livid. Staining principle: Hematoxylin itself is negatively charged and has no stainability. Hematoxylin is oxidated, becomes hematein, is bound to metal (Al, etc.), and is charged positively to have a stainability. This is bound to negatively charged phosphate groups of nucleic acid and ribosome to be colored. Origin: Hematoxylin is a thin yellowish or light brown powder extracted and purified from a leguminous plant Haematoxylon campechianum distributed in India and Central America. |
