Outline	A protease inhibitor which inhibits trypsin, plasmin, plasma kallikrein, and tissue kallikrein.It is a polypeptide with a molecular weight of 6512 which consists of 58 amino acids and is used as inhibitor of blood coagulation and fibrinolysis. The molecule has three S-S bonds, and belongs to the group of Kunltz-type protease inhibitors. It hardly inhibits thrombin, while it shows marked inhibitory action on plasma and tissue kallikreins so that it is used in studies on protease inhibitors and blood coagulation system.Amino acid sequence:H-Arg-Pro-Asp-Phe-Cys-Leu-Glu-Pro-Pro-Tyr-Thr-Gly-Pro-Cys-Lys-Ala-Arg-Ile-Ile-Arg-Tyr-Phe-Tyr-Asn-Ala-Lys-Ala-Gly-Leu-Cys-Gln-Thr-Phe-Val-Tyr-Gly-Gly-Cys-Arg-Ala-Lys-Arg-Asn-Asn-Phe-Lys-Ser-Ala-Glu-Asp-Cys-Met-Arg-Thr-Cys-Gly-Gly-Ala-OH(disulfide bonds: 5->55, 14->38, 30->51).KIE unit: "KIE" is German abbreviation for KIU in English.
