Extracellular vesicles (EVs) play important roles in various biological functions, including tumor progression, neurodegeneration, and immunomodulation. As a result, researchers are increasingly focused on developing therapies that target or use EVs. Aiding in that endeavor, is a new finding that EV-producing cells can be manipulated to design the expression of molecules that enhance the responses of cells targeted by EV therapeutics.
In this webinar, Professor Hanayama from Kanazawa University will present his latest research on the development of designer EVs that regulate anti-tumor immunity and various immune responses as well as discuss their potential therapeutic applications. He will also introduce his unique affinity-based EV isolation method, which enables the separation of intact EVs with higher biological activity. In addition, new tools for the mass production of EVs and quantitative and qualitative analysis based on this method will be discussed.

In this webinar you'll learn

  • How to regulate immunological responses by using designer EVs and their possible therapeutic applications.
  • How the Tim4-phosphatidylserine affinity-based EV isolation method can be used to obtain highly purified and functional EVs.
  • New analytical tools applicable in industrial-scale production of designer EVs.

Who should attend

  • Gene and cell therapy researchers
  • Immunotherapy researchers
  • Researchers interested in EV isolation and analysis
