| Outline | Thrombopoietin (TPO) is a hematopoietic factor that is expressed mainly in the liver, but is also found in the kidney, bone marrow, small intestine, skeletal muscle, and brain. In vivo, it has megakaryocyte colony-stimulating activity and megakaryocyte maturation-promoting activity, and in vivo, it promotes an increase in the circulating volume of platelets. |
