[BIOCHEMISTRY] *A cancer detection by PET using a tracer, 18F-FDG (: Positron emission tomography)* Mannose Triflate is used as a substrate for synthesis of PET reagent, ¹⁸F-FDG. After nuclear transmutation of ¹⁸O to ¹⁸F in a cyclotron, ¹⁸F-FDG (2-deoxy-2-¹⁸F-fluoro-D-glucose) is automatically synthesized from Mannose Triflate. Once purified, it is used for PET examination. Since the half life of ¹⁸F is 2 hours, it is synthesized in each hospital.FDG is characterized by a tendency to accumulate more in tumor cells than in normal cells. Therefore, it is effective in early detection, detection of recurrence and metastasis of various types of cancer such as lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.This product is packed in unit doses. [Features] 20 mg of Mannose Triflate in unit doses. Rubber stopper and aluminum cap are used.
