| Outline | This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. This is HMG-CoA (3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A) reductase inhibitor. It suppresses cholesterol synthesis in the liver by competitive inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase, a rate-controlling enzyme, and thus accelerates cholesterol intake into the liver from blood mediating LDL receptors. Pitavastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor more potent than simvastatin or pravastatin. |
