M-CSF is a potent hematopoietic factor produced by a variety of cells, including lymphocytes, monocytes, fibroblasts, epithelial cells, myoblasts and osteoblasts. It acts on progenitor cells such as monocytes and macrophages to promote differentiation and proliferation, has a survival-promoting effect on mature cells, promotes macrophage migration and phagocytosis, acts on osteoclast progenitor cells to induce RANK expression, and inhibits apoptosis until osteoclast differentiation occurs. It has a wide variety of actions. |
