| Outline | One of the different types of vitamin K. It is contained significantly mainly in natto. It facilitates the maturation of osteocalcin in bones. Mature osteocalcin is considered to have increased affinity with Ca and serve a function in maintaining normal bones. It is noted as an essential vitamin for normal ossification because an increased level of immature osteocalcin is likely to cause osteoporosis and fracture. |
