Outline	This product is an important bile acid and is playing a key role in lipid absorption and cholesterol metabolism. Bile acids are performing what is called enterohepatic circulation and present in trace amounts in the blood and urine of normal humans. It has been shown in recent years that the blood and urine concentrations of bile acids are increased and excreted remarkably in various hepatobiliary diseases and it has become an essential factor to know the biological trend of bile acids to elucidate such diseases.It is used for preparation of desoxycholate medium, XLD agar medium, etc. and bile acid research.Lipid / sugar / nucleic acid> Deoxycholic acid, which is one of the bile acids, forms tubular cavities within crystals upon crystallization. The product forms clathrate compounds with acids, esters, alcohols, ethers, phenols and hydrocarbons. Optical isolation of (±)-limonene and (±)-camphor is an example of its use.
