Overview / Applications
| Outline | This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. It is a disaccharide formed from two units of glucose joined with a β-1,4 bond. It is generated by degrading cellulose with cellulose. It is known to be slightly present in honey, pine needles and corncobs, and wine and sake (rice wine). When analyzing the sugars of biomass materials in the bioethanol production, cellobiose content is monitored to verify the progress of hydrolysis.
